Encompassing more than 175 square miles, San Jose is the 11th largest city in the nation and the 3rd largest in California. Located in the heart of the “Silicon Valley,” San Jose is home to some 835,000 residents. South San Jose is generally considered to be the area south of Interstate 280. Communities in this area include Edenvale, Willow Glen, Almaden Valley, Blossom Valley, Cambrian Park and Santa Teresa. The area has seen rapid growth over the past several years as a number of new expressways have opened the area up to development. There are many new sub-divisions and the character of the neighborhoods is quite varied. The real estate market offers something for everyone. Condominiums and townhouses are available beginning at under $200,000 and running up to nearly $1 million. Single-family homes start at around $300,000 and range up to $3 million plus for hilltop estates and large ranch-style properties.
